Jey Uso returned to the Tag Team division on RAW last Monday, but still, there is no doubt that he is one of the most famous stars in WWE right now. Once again, he made it to the list of the top 10 merchandise sellers of 2025, as he had been one of the biggest stars of the year, too. But it looks like WWE is giving up on his main event push.

The promotion started pushing him as a singles wrestler in 2023, and by 2025, WWE established him as a main eventer, as he won the men's Royal Rumble match and also the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41. But ultimately, his main event post did not work out, and WWE decided to cut him off from the main events.

Stevie Richards thinks WWE is overdoing the entrance of Jey Uso

One of the biggest reasons behind his success has been his entrance, which the life proud always enjoyed, especially children. But professional wrestling Legend Stevie Richards believed that WWE is over doing his his entrance, and it has also been the reason behind his downfall. Speaking on his “The Stevie Richards Show,” he explained the following;

Jey Uso as a singles wrestler from mid 2023

“Now, when Jey won the World Heavyweight Title, that’s when the entrance should have been done — going through the crowd, celebration to open up the show. That’s it. I still put it on creative. What does WWE and wrestling in general these days do? ‘Hey, that works. Let’s beat them over the head with it week after week.’

"Jey Uso is not saying, Triple H is saying, ‘Hey, Jey, just get right to the ring. No way, dude, I’m doing eight minutes. I’m doing eight minutes.’ And then they’re like, ‘Okay, you do the eight minutes, you’re ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso.'”

He recently retired to the Tag Team division along with his brother

“No, this is on TKO in the office. This is exactly what I talked about before. If we had a 60- to 90-minute RAW, you would eliminate all that right away. Or maybe you wouldn’t, and Jey Uso’s just in the ring — we got 20 minutes left in the show. No, this is creative. This is management. And as fans, it’s not Jey Uso, it’s not an indictment on him.”

The live crowd has always been behind Jey during his entrance and his matches, but he could never be a favourite of the online WWE crowd, as his matches on YouTube received record numbers of dislikes. Another big reason behind cutting him of from the main event would be the quality of his matches, which have never been up to the mark. But chances are high that he returned to the singles competition once again.
