The main event push of Jey Uso still stands as one of the most controversial decisions in WWE history. His main event push started earlier this year when he shocked the entire world by winning the men's Royal Rumble match and earned the opportunity to challenge a World Champion of his choice at WrestleMania 41.

Majority of the sources claim that John Cena was the favourite to win the Royal Rumble match and the also expected him to win. Some sources even claimed that CM Punk was also a big contender for the Royal Rumble match. But nobody expected Jey would win the men's Royal Rumble match.

Jey Uso's main event push is possibly coming to an end

It was definitely one of the most surprising Royal Rumble outcomes in the history but surely not one of the best. A large number of fans were not happy with this sudden main event push of Jey and he received a lot of hatred from the internet based wrestling community.

Jey went on to defeat Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41 but ultimately the criticism never left him. The constant criticism remained that he could not improve as a wrestler and it was only just a number of moves. Wrestling Legend Tommy dreamer feared that WWE may be done with Jey and they are not planning to push him as a main eventer anymore. Speaking on "Busted Open After Dark," he said the following;

"I keep saying this, I'm getting concerned. I do not know why, maybe somebody can help me, Jey Uso did not come out through the crowd, not once but twice tonight. I'm worried about, are they not seeing this guy as a top act. I know he came in sort of from the side, maybe because he came from the [Hogan] tribute, but that crowd was insane for him, and the guy is one of your top acts as a babyface, and entrance is a massive part of his deal, and he didn't get it not once but twice."

Jey Uso may not have received any title push after dropping the Championship to Gunther, but he still remains on the main event picture. At SummerSlam he would team up with Roman Reigns to challenge the team of Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker which is a main event standard match. So nothing is assumable presently.
