Jeff Hardy wrestling career
Jeff Hardy made his in ring debut at the age of 16 in 1993, and he started working as a tag team along with his brother Matt Hardy from his early career. He made his WWE debut in 1994 when he was only 17. He was treated as a tag team wrestler along with his brother in WWE, too. But they did not get regular appearances on WWE shows.
During their early career in WWE, they were mostly treated as jobbers. They wrestled in both singles and Tag Team matches. But in most cases, they were jobbers and they lost most of their matches. They started to work as a tag team regularly, mostly from 1997, and even during their early days as a tag team, they were nothing but jobbers.
Things started to change for them when WWE was trying to reshape their Tag Team division, and slowly, they went on to become one of the most famous Tag Teams of WWE. They had multiple Tag Team rivalries with some of the top teams of the promotion, like Edge & Christian and The Dudley Boyz.
One of their early career highlights was their participation in the three way Ladder match at WrestleMania 2000. Matt Hardy started working as a heel on SmackDown during the early Ruthless Aggression Era, whereas Jeff Hardy was a babyface on Monday Night RAW. But he could not get much further as a singles wrestler, as ultimately he was released from the promotion in 2003.
He went to the independent circuit after his WWE release, and he also joined TNA Wrestling in 2004 to spend a couple of years. In 2006, he returned to WWE and continued working as a singles wrestler. This was the first time in his WWE career that he was treated as a main eventer, and his popularity among the WWE fans kept increasing.
He spent 3 years in WWE during his second run in the promotion, and it is undoubtedly his best ever singles run. He won multiple single championships, including the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and later he started feuding regularly for the WWE World Championship as he became a concrete main eventer at a point.
He won the WWE World Championship three times in total, and he also had some amazing rivalries with some of the biggest stars of WWE. One of the best feuds she had during this one was against CM Punk, and it was for the World Heavyweight Championship. He also had another excellent rivalry with his elder brother Matt Hardy, and the duo even had a tremendous match at WrestleMania 25.
After leaving WWE, he returned to TNA Wrestling in 2010 and spent 7 years in the promotion. In 2017, he returned to WWE along with his brother, and in this run, he was mostly positioned as a lower mid card and was used to put over younger talents. He left WWE in 2021 and joined AEW for the first time in 2022, and spent a couple of years there. Presently, he is active in TNA wrestling.
