He wrestled The Ring General Gunther in his final match, and he had been quite impressive, much like always. But the entire world had been shocked after he tapped out to Gunther to accept his defeat.

It was the first time in 21 long years that John Cena tapped out, and that was too, it is last ever match. Speaking on the “WWE SNME Recap,” he discussed the following;

“I applaud it. Because John will be the first one to tell you, you can’t win them all. He’d be the first one to tell you, ‘Man, you got the hustle, loyalty, respect, never give up. But you can’t win them all.’ You have to know — he always used to tell me, ‘One heel at a time. Sometimes you have to know which heel to go up, which heel to come down.’

“That right there [was] an applaud for me. Because it was a hell of a match. He gave it everything he wanted to give it for his last spin, you know what I’m saying? He went out the way he wanted to, he went out fighting, he told you from the beginning, ‘We’re finna to go out here and handle business. We’re going to give it all we got.’ I was appreciative. That was appreciative of — I was happy for that.”

The farewell Cena received at the end of the match was really special and quite emotional. Everyone in the crowd was seen crying, even the biggest names in the WWE roster, like the present Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was also seen in tears.
