Last Saturday at the Saturday Night's Main Event, John Cena worked in his last ever professional wrestling match, and his final opponent was the former two times WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. The fans desperately wanted to see Cena win his final match, but WWE officials disappointed them by having Cena submit for the first time in 21 years.
The fans were absolutely furious after the way John Cena lost his final match and they have started to show hatred towards The Ring General Gunther. He was booed massively after winning the match, and even when he left the arena after the event ended, he had to be escorted out of the area safely by security due to the hostile reception he received from fans outside the stadium.

Gunther talks about the hatred he is receiving after defeating John Cena
The Australian professional wrestler has been receiving a very heated reaction ever since defeating John Cena in his farewell match. Recently, he spoke to New York Sports, where he was asked about the recent hatred he is receiving from the WWE fans. He answered the question by quoting the following;
Gunther defeated John Cena in his farewell match
“I’m not bothered. I went out on Raw on Monday to send a few words towards him as the only chance I had, and I could feel that energy from the audience where it’s kind of like they don’t want me to stand there and claim that for me. But I enjoyed it. I think that’s great. That’s what I’m here for, to antagonize people and if they are antagonized which they seem to be, then I succeeded and I thrive off that.”

He is a two times World Heavyweight Champion
“Oh yeah, for sure. I mean, he’s like maybe the best on the mic to ever do it or one of the best. People can argue whatever they want about those things but he’s definitely in the top category. So it would have been good for experience-wise to get the chance. Didn’t work out. It’s fine. It is what it is. I’m more focused on the match anyway.”
Gunther previously retired Goldberg in the same year, and later this year, he eliminated John Cena, who is considered the Greatest of All Time. A large number of fans have already started to predict that he will also retire Brock Lesnar in the near future. No matter what, this will help him to get a lot of heel hat,e which will be really beneficial for his future.
