At the previous Saturday Night's Main Event show, Goldberg's iconic professional wrestling career came to an end as he wrestled his last ever match. Then World Heavyweight Champion Gunther was given the honor to end the career of the former WWE and WCW star. Needless to say, it was a World Heavyweight Championship match.
The match went on for over 15 minutes, and it was the longest match Goldberg produced since his return to wrestling in 2016. It was definitely not his best match, nor a very entertaining match, but his effort was commendable. With this match, his 28 year old professional wrestling career finally came to an end.

But the match had been quite difficult for the WWE Hall of Famer as he admitted recently that he hurt his hand while chopping The Ring General. Goldberg had his retirement match at Saturday Night's Main Event
“I wasn’t very sore [after the match], honest to God. The only thing that I hurt was, I think I broke… my hand. I broke a bone in my hand. [It was from ] chopping him. I don’t know how to chop. He chopped me and I got — and it was funny. But that’s his big thing, right? And I mean, I played football, dude.

He hurt himself during the match
"I’m not like a normal human, right? And so I like — you hear these stories and you see the chops. And obviously wrestlers sell it well, but you see the welts and you see redness. It sounds great, and that’s something you’re not going to practice. You want the adrenaline when you catch that to be able to deal with it.” said the professional wrestling legend who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in class of 2018.
Goldberg returned to in ring action in 2016 during the Survivor Series event. He kept on working as a part timer and had multiple matches with some of the biggest stars, like The Undertaker, and even with the newer stars, Gunther. He also won the WWE Universal Championship two times and defended the title at two different WrestleMania events. The wrestling world will miss the former three times World Champion Goldberg.
