Goldberg became a hot topic for the recent headlines after he made a controversial remark on former four times WWE World Champion Asuka. The WCW legend publicly criticized Asuka for beating his undefeated streak. He expressed his disappointment about it, and even addressed the Empress of Tomorrow as "some girl."

The wrestling community was divided into two parts after the WCW Legend made such a comment. But in most cases, the wrestling world criticized him for making such a comment. Even Asuka interacted with the comments made by Goldberg, but she was quite calm about it and showed excellent sportsmanship by showing respect to the legend.

Jim Cornette criticized Goldberg recently

A lot of wrestling pundits criticized the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion for making such a comment, and recently, another wrestling legend Jim Cornette talked about this incident and criticized the retired professional wrestler. In a recent episode of the “Jim Cornette’s Drive Thru” podcast, he said the following;

Goldberg shared unhappiness with Asuka beating his streak

“Is anybody going to confuse that with Goldberg’s win streak, which was the hot thing for a period of time in the Monday Night War? And does he realize that The Sheik had a g*** streak in Toronto for seven years? He never f** lost, and he sold about, in that time, three or four million f** tickets. And I think there’s a streak going back to—I don’t know when—and Lou Thesz was the champion for eight f*** years. He didn’t do a lot of jobs, did he?”

“What is he on about? I know, but I’m telling you, it comes from all directions. A lot of these guys are marks for themselves because of something or other. Either because in Bret’s case he legitimately was one of the best and that he believes he’s better than that. And in Goldberg’s case, he was never smart to the business before he was on top of it.”

Asuka also commented on this incident recently

“So he doesn’t know how the f** it works or what the f* is done. But to say, ‘Well, a girl wrestler in modern day won more matches in a row than I did when I was a ratings draw and a f** ticket seller’—nobody’s going to g*** confuse those. And he didn’t invent a winning streak. Every top box office draw that has ever been had one. How long you think Rocko went without doing a job?”

Goldberg started his undefeated streak after he made his WCW debut back in 1997, and he remained undefeated until December 1998 before finally getting beaten by Kevin Nash at WCW Starrcade. He won back to back 173 matches, and it still remains a huge record. Asuka has an undefeated streak of 914 days, but these two records are not often compared.
