WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has declared it publicly many times that he is desperate to have a retirement match, and it is pretty much confirmed that he will definitely have it. There is no confirmation on when he will have his retirement match, but he is expected to give a big boost to a young talent through his final match.
During his last appearance in WWE, he had a face to face confrontation with then World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, and instantly rumours started to spread that The Ring General is planned to be his final opponent. But that rumour turned out to be false.

Goldberg is struggling badly in training
There has been no mention of Goldberg ever being seen in WWE, but it is pretty much certain that he will surely have his final match in a WWE ring sooner or later. He also confirmed that he is training hard for his retirement match, but he also explained how much he is struggling in training. Speaking on his “Carcast” podcast, he said;
Goldberg is presently training to have a retirement match in WWE
“And then there’s another thing. I’m extremely limited because of my left knee. I can’t run. I mean, I can run but, it hurts. So I’m not gonna exacerbate the pain by going out and running. I’m on a sprint bike and I’m doing different stuff for my cardio. The kickboxing doesn’t hurt that much because I’m not running.
“But, you find ways around things and I mean, the scenario’s not perfect by any stretch so you gotta work around stuff. Hell, I’m working around my shoulder that you remember six months ago, I couldn’t do this (lift my arm). I’m pretty frickin’ strong now, I mean, comparatively and it’s funny because ever since we moved here, I haven’t been able to use my arm for five years.

Gunther is rumoured to be his final opponent
"I just didn’t use it because it hurt so bad and I’ve had to retrain myself to do the normal, daily things and use my arm, and that’s what’s gotten me back into it. It’s just not favoring it by any stretch and not having it be a hindrance by any means and going out of my way to do everything with my right hand as opposed to before; everything with my left hand… I became a lefty as a kid because I broke my right arm.”

The fans are in full discussion final opponent of Goldberg. Gunther has still been the favourite to get the honor, and their last altercation at the Bad Blood event of 2024 made things more clear. But as of now, there are no such plans, however, we can definitely expect to see Goldberg performing his final match in WWE soon, maybe at WrestleMania 42 or a Saudi event.
