Despite being a hugely famous name in the professional wrestling world, Goldberg had to go through massive criticism for his Second run in WWE. He looked totally out of shape, and he could not produce matches longer than 3-4 minutes. His move set also became quite limited as he could not hit anything more than two of his finishing moves.

But Goldberg always remained on the main event scene, and he even won the WWE Universal Championship 2 times during his second run, which sparked massive criticism. He robbed the opportunities of many other names to headline WrestleMania like Bray Wyatt, Kevin Owens, and Chris Jericho. Many wrestlers were also frustrated with his main event push.

Goldberg Dolph Ziggler 2

Dolph Ziggler did not want to job to Goldberg

Former WWE star and former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler recently remembered jobbing to Goldberg at SummerSlam 2019. Ziggler revealed that he did not want to job to him in the way he did, and he even threatened to quit. Speaking on the “INSIGHT” podcast recently, he said the following;

Dolph Ziggler was beaten by the former three times World Champion at SummerSlam 2019

“So I assumed it would be two minutes of heat. But like me moving out of the way, him taking himself out to a turnbuckle. And then a couple of moves from him, and we go to his finish or something. And I was told no, ding, ding, ding, spear, jackhammer.

"I said ‘Vince, why am I in this match when anybody could take a spear and a jackhammer?’ We built this up. We pretended it was gonna be Miz, then we pretend it was gonna be Shawn Michaels for one night. And we had this face-off, just so you could play the Goldberg music and make this.”

The match did not even last 2 minutes

“What’s the point of Ding, ding, ding spear Jachammer? I go, a local could do it, anybody could do it. And he was like, ‘Well, I don’t know what he can do with you.’ I go, ‘If I can’t be in this match doing something, then I have to leave this company right now.’ And I’m not kidding, if this is purely for someone a scarecrow, to take a spear and a jackhammer, I don’t want to work here. And also, it was supposed to be my second to last night.”

Goldberg completely destroyed Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam 2019. Ziggler hit two Super Kicks as soon as the match started, but it was not enough to keep him down. The Wrestling Legend quickly capitalised with a flying Spear and easily pinned him after a Jackhammer. The match did not even last for two minutes.
