AJ Lee, who is often considered the biggest star of the Divas era of WWE, retired from in ring action back in 2015. She was a three times WWE Divas Champion, and also the biggest attraction of WWE during her prime. But she left wrestling at a very young age. The majority of the wrestling fans believed it was a massive loss for women's wrestling.
But finally, she decided to return recently after more than a decade, returning to the promotion last week on SmackDown to avenge her husband CM Punk against Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins. She will team up with CM Punk to take on the team of Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins at the upcoming WWE premium live event Wrestlepalooza.
Nikki Bella reunited with AJ Lee backstage
During her prime, one of the biggest rivals of AJ Lee was Nikki Bella, and together the two wrestlers had excellent matches. But in real life, they were good friends. Nikki Bella recently reunited with her old friend backstage. Speaking on her “The Nikki & Brie Show” podcast recently, she shared her experience of reuniting with Lee recently;

“It was great, AJ is back. She and I were chatting for a bit backstage and we were both just saying how crazy it is [that] you’re here when I’m back. I’m like, ‘No, I’m so happy you’re back.’ It was great talking to her. I actually hope we get a moment because when you think about it — everyone’s talking about it on the internet and it is true.
Lee returned to WWE recently after a decade
"I mean, we were so much of each other’s most important stories at that time with the Diva’s Championship before she had left, even with you and Paige. It was so much about us. We have to have a moment. I feel that even this Monday we should have a moment backstage. I’m hoping at some point we have that interaction because I know the fans would love it.”
AJ Lee is expected to have a long feud with Becky Lynch over the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship. Since Nikki Bella is also active in WWE right now, we can also expect this duo to have a rivalry in the near future. Hopefully, Lee remains active in WWE for a number of years and keeps on doing what she does best.
