In only a couple of months, a huge legacy will come to an end after John Cena wrestles his last ever professional wrestling match. It has already been announced that he will wrestle his final match at the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event show on December 13, but his final opponent has not been officially announced yet.
Last year, during the Money in the Bank event, Cena announced that he would retire by the end of 2025. He started his retirement tour at the Netflix RAW premiere on January 6th, and overall, he had an amazing retirement tour. He set multiple records, including winning the 17th World Championship.

He also had his first heel run in over two decades, and surprisingly, it was his first and only Championship run in WWE as a heel. Just before SummerSlam, he turned babyface and dropped the title to Cody Rhodes at the mentioned event. Since dropping the title, he had two matches; against Logan Paul and Brock Lesnar.

Discussions are still going on about his final opponent, but nothing has been confirmed yet. However, a number of names had been predicted who could be the final opponent of John Cena. A large number of wrestling fans want to see a rising star to be awarded be honored to be the final opponent of Cena.

But a huge part of the wrestling community wants to see Edge as the final opponent of Cena. The Rated R Superstar had been one of the biggest rivals in Cena's career. Even Vince Russo said the following in his “Coach and Bro Show” podcast, "Like I said, that's why I think it needs to be an Adam Copeland. It needs to be somebody new, another pop making their return."
John Cena had matches with some of his biggest rivals of his wrestling career during this retirement tour, like Randy Orton and CM Punk. Edge remained the only wrestler whom he could not face in this run yet. But since Edge is under contract with AEW right now, chances are very low that we can get to see this match one more time.
