Dominik Mysterio won the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41 and had a Title reign of over 200 days. He is already considered one of the greatest IC Champions in recent times. The previous champion was Bron Breakker, who defended the title in a fatal 4 way match against Dom, Penta, and Finn Balor. Dom won this match by pinning Balor.
Since then, he has been on an amazing run as the champion, having already defeated some of the top stars to keep the title on his shoulders, until last Monday on Raw, when he got the opportunity to defend it against John Cena. It was the only title that John Cena could never win in WWE, and it also prevented him from being a Grand Slam Champion.
Bubba Ray Dudley has praised Dominik Mysterio
Some of the fans are not happy that Dominik Mysterio dropped the championship, as they feared that Dom's momentum had been killed with this drop. But most of the wrestling figures shared place for him, including retired professional wrestler Bubba Ray Dudley, who praised "Dirty" Dom on his Busted Open Radio Podcast recently;

“[I] loved Cena’s entrance, loved what John had to say. And then the MVP of the segment came out: ‘Dirty’ Dom. Here is what impressed me about Dom: it would be very easy for anybody, in that moment, even a veteran [like] me, … to be a little bit of a deer in the headlights. That is a rough, rough spot to be in – an overwhelming spot to be in.”
He dropped the IC championship to John Cena on RAW last Monday
“Dom Mysterio was the Floyd Mayweather of that segment last night. What I’m talking about is how calm Floyd Mayweather was in a boxing ring. Dom was in the moment last night. Not only was Dom not a deer in the headlights, I felt Dom had it in his eyes that, ‘I’m gonna steal the show tonight.’”
This is definitely not going to be the end of Dominik Mysterio, as he is one of the prospects of WWE, and we can also expect him to win the championship again. Presently, he is rumored to challenge John Cena for the title at the upcoming Survivor Series event, and it can also be expected that WWE will promote him as a future top star. He had been really amazing ever since he turned heel in 2022.
