John Cena is one of the highest achieved wrestlers in the history of professional wrestling, and he won the WWE World Championship 17 times, which is the most number of world titles in WWE history. Recently, he broke the record of Ric Flair, who has a total of 16 world title reigns as recognized by WWE.
But the only Championship he could never win is the WWE Intercontinental Championship, which also prevents him from being a Grand Slam Champion in WWE. Rumors have it that WWE is internally considering giving the Intercontinental Championship to John Cena before he retires to crown him a Grand Slam champion.

Dominik Mysterio wants to defend his title against John Cena
The current WWE Intercontinental Champion is aware that fans are eager to see John Cena challenge for his title, and he does not want to back down from this fight. While attending an interview with Wide World of Sports, he issued a challenge to John Cena by quoting the following;
Dominik Mysterio won the Championship at WrestleMania 41
“It would be amazing. I’d love to put one of the final nails in the coffin of John Cena’s career. I’ve known him since I was a kid, so being able to get in the ring with him would be awesome. This is the only title he has never held in the WWE. If he wants some, he can come and get some.”

John Cena never won the WWE Intercontinental Championship
He also talked about following his father's foot steps; “I don’t really feel the pressure. When it comes to being a multi-generation family in the industry and having the Mysterio name and everything he’s done, I never really took the pressure in a bad way. It almost motivated me and made me want to go out there and have fun. Now when people talk about the Mysterios, they talk about me as well which is really cool to see.”
Dominik Mysterio won the WWE Intercontinental Championship at the WrestleMania 41 event, where he won a fatal 4 way match to win the title. He will defend his title in a triple threat match at the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event show against Penta and Rusev. If he can retain the Championship, he can definitely go on to defend the title against John Cena at Survivor Series.
