Dominik Mysterio did an amazing job as the WWE Intercontinental Champion for nearly 7 months. He won the prestigious Championship when he featured in a fatal 4 way match where Bron Breakker defended the title against him, Penta, and Finn Balor. Mysterio pinned Finn Balor in this match to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

He had been an excellent WWE IC champion before meeting John Cena on RAW recently, where he defended the title against the Greatest of All Time. He dropped the Championship in order to crown John Cena as the Grand Slam champion, the only achievement that was missing from his illustrious professional wrestling career.

Dominik Mysterio talks about challenging John Cena for the IC title at Survivor Series

Dominik Mysterio has the opportunity to win back the Championship at the upcoming Survivor Series event where John Cena will defend the title against him. The Latino Cheat talked about this upcoming match recently and explained how honoured he feels about it. While appearing on ESPN’s First Take, he said the following;

Dominik Mysterio dropped the WWE IC Championship to John Cena on RAW recently

“It’s a huge blessing for me to be able to get three out of his last four matches in the WWE. I had mentioned it earlier. I was able to wrestle him at the TD Garden. Got to wrestle him in Madison Square Garden, and we’ll finish it off at Petco Park. So, for me, it’s a huge honor.

Cena now stands as a Grand Slam champion in WWE

"He’s one of the best ever to do it, if not the best ever to do it in this business. Everything we do, we base it off of John Cena. He’s the golden boy for the WWE, so, for me, I’m excited to put the final nail in his coffin.” said the former WWE Intercontinental Champion who will challenge John Cena for the title at Survivor Series.

It looks like Dominik Mysterio will take the WWE Intercontinental Championship away from John Cena at the Survivor Series event, and he will continue his run as the IC champion. It is believed that Cena is only given the title so that he can become a Grand Slam champion, and he will not take the title with him at his retirement match because it will make things a little predictable.
