WWE is presently organising a 16 man tournament to determine the final opponent of John Cena, and a large number of major stars are taking part in this tournament. Presently, the pre quarter final round is going on, and some of the matches have already taken place. Some of the big names have also made sensational comebacks as part of this tournament.
Last week on SmackDown, Matt Cardona, aka Zack Ryder, made a sensational comeback and featured as the surprise opponent of LA Knight. Despite losing the match, the fans were really happy to see him back. This week on RAW, Dolph Ziggler appeared as a surprise participant in the tournament and challenged Solo Sikoa.

Dolph Ziggler talked about returning to WWE and how he felt about it
Despite Dolph Ziggler failing to win the match, much like Zack Ryder, the fans were extremely happy to see their favourite star back in WWE. Everybody is talking about the art of selling that was portrayed by Ziggler; fans are also talking about what they are missing in WWE right now. Ziggler recently featured on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, where he explained how he felt when he got to know about this return;
Dolph Ziggler made his return as a surprise participant in a tournament on RAW last Monday
“Two, three weeks, perhaps. There is a handful of surprises and big moments that everybody remembers. I didn’t tell my parents. I told my brother. ‘If anybody finds out, I’ll know you told them because I told nobody else.’ I’m in a group chat with Bobby Roode, Zack Ryder, and Brian Myers.

Zack Ryder also made a surprise return on SmackDown last week
"I didn’t say anything. Me and Zack didn’t say anything. He said nothing. A couple interviews at The Big Event, they were like, ‘Are you wrestling on Monday at the Garden?’ ‘Pshhh, I wish. That would be cool. Cena’s last Raw.’” said the former two times WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
It has not been confirmed whether WWE brought back Dolph Ziggler and Zack Ryder on a full time basis or was these appearances were just one match returns, much like the Royal Rumble. But if they were one match returns, the question remains why WWE used their ring name from WWE and not from the promotions they are active in right now. Definitely, the fans would be extremely happy to get them back on a full time basis.
