DDP, Diamond Dallas Page, had been one of the biggest stars of WCW during the 90s, and of course, he was a huge attraction. He had been a three times WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and he also won another prestigious championship from the promotion. He remained active in WCW until the final day of the promotion.
DDP transitioned to WWE for the first time in 2001, much like a lot of WCW stars who joined WWE after the death of WCW in 2001. But he received the terrible lower mid card run in WWE, as he had to job in most of his matches in the promotion, as if Vince McMahon never wanted to push him as a top star.

DDP discussed whether Vince McMahon buried him intentionally
But did Vince McMahon bury him intentionally? The former owner of WWE has always been accused of burying Page would have been a top star in WWE. Page was recently asked whether he felt he was intentionally buried by Vince McMahon during his recent appearance on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” a podcast. Here is what he had to say in response;
DDP had a very short run in WWE
“I don’t look at it as me personally. [Helwani asks if it’s because he hugged Vince McMahon]. I think that could be part of it. That is the truth. And people would — if I said that. I’m so glad you said that, because people thought it was like, ‘Oh, god, he thinks he hugged Vince. He did. He started doing it.’
"No, he did. I would love to ask him because I have — No, I never, I’ve never gotten a real conversation past the beginning with Vince. I don’t really know Vince, but when I got there, we were there. It took so long to get there because of the traffic and everything for me and Kim [Kimberly Page, DDP’s ex-wife]. … Yeah, it took so long to get there that, you know, it was like three hours late.

The biggest part of his WWE run was his rivalry against the Brothers of Destruction
"We were two hours or something like that. When I walk in, Vince, of course, sticks out his hand. I go, I’m not shaking your hand, bro. I’ve waited my whole life to meet you. I’m hugging you. … And how many? How many hugs did he do after that? After a while, I really thought it was funny.” said Page.
DDP joined WWE in 2001 just to leave the promotion in 2002. He was one of the few major names that transitioned to WWE from WCW, and he was also a part of the WWE vs Alliance storyline during the early part. But later, he was removed from this angle, despite the fans wanting him to be a part of it. Moreover, he had a terrible run in WWE.
