Daniel Bryan may be semi retired from in ring action, but the fans will always remember his yes movement and how this catchphrase made him a star overnight. The biggest example of the success of this catchphrase is that it still gets used even when he is not around, much like Steve Austin's "What!" catchphrase.
WWE never considered Daniel Bryan as a top star of the promotion. He was an upper mid card at best. Despite winning the World Championship multiple times by 2013, WWE still did not consider him a main eventer. But he had an abnormal popularity among the fans during the time, forcing the promotion to put him over as a main eventer.

Daniel Bryan discusses the impact of his yes chant
He won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX, despite he was not originally being planned to be a part of the world title match at the mentioned event. But WWE was forced to not only put him in the world title match but to give the title too. Bryan recently remembered this success and also discussed how the fans used to hijack the shows with his yes chant. Speaking on the Insight Podcast, he said;
“But even in the sense of like, then when Batista won that Royal Rumble. I feel bad for Batista because he worked hard to come back and all that kind of stuff. You do that with Batista now; he gets a great reaction, or any other year.

Daniel Bryan was massively successful among the fans due to his yes chants
"I don’t think it was necessarily me. It was okay. The crowd had gotten behind a Dolph Ziggler, the crowd had gotten behind a Kofi Kingston, and they got up to a certain level, and then they were during that era, it was like, okay, then they would always kind of be pushed back down, or whatever it is.
"I think fans were starting to get upset by it. Even Punk, me, and Punk had wrestled a match on a pay-per-view, must have been 2012 for the title. We were in the middle of the show, and the main event was John Laurinaitis and John Cena. I think the fans were ready for something new, or whatever it is.

Daniel Bryan is presently semi retired from action
"I mean, that’s just time and place; there’s a lot of my career that’s been like that. I’m of the firm belief that you could have [anyone]. I was in a very fortunate position, even winning the title. I wasn’t even supposed to. I wasn’t even supposed to be there that day.”
Daniel Bryan may have been one of the biggest stars in WWE during his time in the promotion, but he could not enjoy the success for long because of the injuries he suffered. He even had to retire from in ring action in 2015, but he could return to action in 2018. Presently, he is active in AEW, and he is semi retired from in ring action. He is not able to continue working in the ring because of his injuries.
