Earlier this year, WWE released a number of wrestlers, and Dakota Kai was one of the unfortunate ones to lose her job. The promotion released some of the top stars, too, including Braun Strowman, who had been a former World Champion. Strowman even expressed her frustration about getting released from WWE recently.
This was Dakota Kai's second run in WWE first run in the promotion ended in mid 2022. In the same year, Triple H brought her back to form a faction around Bayley named Damage CTRL. She enjoyed her WWE tenure for the next 3 years before getting released earlier this year. Overall, it was a pretty good run as she won the WWE women's Tag Team Championship twice with Iyo Sky.
Dakota Kai wants to return to wrestling
Ever since Dakota Kai had been released from WWE, she remained out of action. Finally, she is plotting to make a sensational return to the world of professional wrestling. Recently speaking on her Twitch stream, the former two times WWE women's Tag Team Champion said the following;

“I miss wrestling, you guys. We’re going to get back into it. It’s just one of those things where it’s been nice to have a little bit of a break. I’ve been doing it for a long time, longer than the last seven years I was with WWE, you know what I mean? So it is nice to take a step back… but I really do miss it. I’m so sorry in terms of being away from social media.
The Kiwi professional wrestler had been out of action since her release
"Pretty bad at social media, but also it’s just one of those things where I — not enjoy, that’s not the right way to put it — but, like, it is healthy to step away from it. To be fair, a few months is like a long time,” she said. “There’s a lot of positive things happening on social media, but there’s just a lot of negative stuff. But I am doing very, very well.”
During the latest mass release of WWE, the promotion mostly focused on the injury prone talents, and most of the names that got released were quite injury prone, including Kai. Braun Strowman, the name previously mentioned, also suffered multiple injuries after his latest return. It had been an extremely professional approach from the promotion.
