Cody Rhodes had been treated as a main event star in WWE after he returned to the promotion in 2022. Throughout this time, his biggest rival in the promotion had been Roman Reigns. Rhodes earned the right to challenge him for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 39 for the first time by winning the Royal Rumble match, but on the first attempt, he lost.
Next year, he came back again to challenge Roman Reigns for the title at WrestleMania 40, and once again, he earned the opportunity to challenge by winning the Royal Rumble match. This time, he made no mistake but to defeat him, and Roman Reigns finally dropped the title after over 1300 days.
Cody Rhodes claims that the third match against Roman Reigns will be hard to do
Ever since WrestleMania 40 was over, the majority of the fans have been desperately waiting to see the third chapter between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. But Rhodes recently responded to the possibility of this dream third match. Recently, he appeared on the SI Media Podcast, where he said the following;

“I’m very happy with what we put out there,” Rhodes began. “I always try to wax poetic about him. Anytime I’ve ever said something a little snarky, I guess it’s been more for entertainment. That’s probably a very hard match to have happen. I could see it being very significant, it happening again.

“For the fans who really make this all up, for that, you can’t just have two. We split it. That third exists. A lot of times, sometimes matches can go in the file of the greatest matches that never happened. I’m certainly not adverse to it. I don’t know what his outlook on it is. There were massive rumours that WWE officials are planning a huge match between a babyface Roman Reigns and Rhodes at a future WrestleMania event, preferably at WrestleMania 43. But after the latest revelation from the American Nightmare, the chances of this dream match seem really low.
