John Cena defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam and dropped the title to the American Nightmare. It was indeed one of the best matches of the show, and Cody Rhodes won the Championship in hard fought match.

Cody dropped the Championship to John Cena at WrestleMania 41, and Cena had his one and only heel run as the World Champion. After defeating the likes of Randy Orton and CM Punk during this World title reign, he finally dropped the Championship to Cody last night at SummerSlam.

This was indeed one of the best matches of the show, where both of the participants were at the top of their games. This is also the last world title reign of John Cena's wrestling career. Cody appeared on the post show of SummerSlam, where he talked about this victory. Here is what he said;

“This is what he asked. We’ve had situations like that before, it’s the greatest of all time and John Cena is not the type to give anything up. He’s been saying it for years: the guy or girl, whoever it is that’s gonna take his spot is gonna take it. And that’s the closest I can offer to respect, but also ‘Alright. Alright my friend, time to go.’

"And again, I’m still reeling off the fact that this wonderful crowd [in] MetLife Stadium — we won’t see one like John Cena again, but what you guys do as an audience is you give someone like me an opportunity. After the match ended, Brock Lesnar made a surprise appearance and attacked John Cena, clarifying that the Beast Incarnate will be the final opponent of John Cena's retirement tour. But there is no confirmation of who is next in line to challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
