Cody Rhodes is being presented as the face of WWE right now, and ever since he returned to the promotion in 2022, he has been promoted as a top star. He made a surprise return at WrestleMania 38 and had an excellent match with Seth Rollins. He continued having a rivalry with the Visionary.
In the following year, he won the men's Royal Rumble match and went on to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 39. But he failed to beat him at the event, and then he had another full year to build up to win the next year's Royal Rumble again to challenge Roman Reigns again for the title at WrestleMania XL.

Cody Rhodes revealed how he ended up joining WWE in 2022
This time, he finally defeated Reigns and captured the Undisputed WWE Championship. He still maintains his main event status in WWE. But how did it all start and how did he make the break to in WWE again after his AEW run ended? Speaking on his “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast, he said the following;
Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38
“[Bruce Prichard] and I and Vince [McMahon], having a meeting when I was out of contract, essentially working (…) and then looking into what could happen next. I’ve told people that I always was of the thought that meeting would be a good meeting.”
“Our anticipation and our expectation, frankly, was one of ‘Hey man, Cody, we want you to come home’. And that was our sole purpose, was, to say ‘Come home. The door’s open and we’re glad you went away and did what you did, very happy for you; we feel that the best place for you is back home.’”

Rhodes main evented WrestleMania for three straight years
“There was feeling on our side: we will not leave until we have, at least, a handshake agreement as far as what the future was going to be and what the future was going to be with you. So, yeah, we had a plan and it happened pretty quickly!”
Cody Rhodes had a one year run at the Undisputed WWE Championship before dropping the title to John Cena at WrestleMania 41. But he was able to beat John Cena again at SummerSlam to regain the Championship. Cody Rhodes is still carrying the Undisputed WWE title, and rumours have it that he is carrying the title to WrestleMania 42.
