CM Punk is presently doing an amazing job at the age of 47 and and he is also standing as the present World Heavyweight Champion. He was one of the biggest attractions of WWE during the early PG Era of WWE, and he is also considered one of the rivals of John Cena. Their match from Money in the Bank 2011 still remains a classic.

But CM Punk went out of action in early 2024 after a disagreement with WWE, and he remained out of the wrestling world for more than seven years. He returned to wrestling in September 2021, holding the hands of AEW. He spent a couple of years in the AEW, but things did not go very well for him in this promotion. So, he decided to leave it in 2023.

He returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 and since then he is active in the promotion. He has been doing an excellent job ever since returning to the promotion, and he has already won the World Championship two times. He has worked with major stars of the present generation like Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre, and he even produced some excellent matches.

He does not want to talk about his final opponent right now

But CM Punk is 47 right now, and the fans cannot expect him to work in the ring for a long time. Punk was recently asked about his potential retirement and and he was also asked whom he would like to face in his retirement match. Speaking on the “Mostly Sports” podcast, the present World Heavyweight Champion is the following;

“That one’s so hard to answer. That’s like a huge ‘I don’t know.’ Because everything is constantly changing, and this is also fleeting. That’s why I say, I’m in the present right now. I’m just trying to enjoy every single day. I go out there and perform, whether it’s just on the microphone or in the ring, like it’s my last time. Just because I don’t know. You never know what’s gonna happen.”

“That also, I think, lends credence to why the Cena thing is so special. Because he just mapped it out and said, ‘This is it. Come hang out, see me for the last time, and I’m done.’ I’ve often said that me and him are on the same path.

"I just don’t have an expiration date on it. But I do know that, like the road is a lot shorter ahead of me than it is behind me. So we’re gonna see what happens. But as far as like who I wrestle for the last time, man, I really have no idea.” said the seven times World Champion.
