CM Punk won his seventh World Championship at the latest Saturday Night's Main Event show, where he had a match for the vacated Championship against the former champion Jey Uso. Punk made his return to WWE during Survivor Series 2023, and since then, it has been his first proper World Championship run.

He won the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam after defeating Gunther to win the title. But he could not enjoy the title reign for long, as Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract as soon as he won the title. He had to drop the title in just a few minutes.

Maven explains why CM Punk should not have won the title

After Seth Rollins picked up a shoulder injury at the Crown Jewel event, he was forced to vacate the Championship, and WWE had to crown a new champion. They announced CM Punk as one of the no. 1 contenders, and to crown the other one, they organised a battle Royal, which was won by Jey Uso.

CM Punk defeated Jey Uso at Saturday Night's Main Event to win the World Heavyweight Championship

CM Punk and Jey Uso fought for the vacated World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event, and Punk finally grabbed the championship. It looks like he is going to hold the title for a long time. But former WWE star and former WWE Hardcore Champion Maven is not happy with his title win. Speaking with TMZ Sports recently, he explained the following;

“I agree with what Tyrus said. In a perfect world, he should be like that. But I mean, we’re in a male ego-dominated industry. Wrestling—I’ve said it—is high school. Other than the only difference is everybody in that locker room is the prom king and prom queen.”

This had been Punk's seventh World title win in WWE

“You have all these type A personalities. It’s hard to tell these ego-driven maniacs—myself being one of them at a time in my life—that, you know what? It’s time for you to play a different role within the company. That’s tough to hear. Tyrus is right—he should care only about that [putting people over]. But you know, he still thinks he’s got one more run in him.”

“And who are we to say if he does or doesn’t? Usually, Father Time and injury makes that decision for you. I think Punk is at a point in his career where titles really shouldn’t be on the radar. Really, he should be getting the Breakers ready. He should be getting the young guys ready.” said Maven Huffman, regarding the World Championship win of Punk.
