CM Punk has earned the right to challenge the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther for the title at the upcoming event SummerSlam, and this is definitely one of the most anticipated matches of the mentioned show. This match was loading for a long time, and finally it is happening.
The match between CM Punk and Gunther has been teased since the early days of this year. After defeating Seth Rollins on the Netflix RAW premiere, Punk expressed his desire to challenge Gunther. But the match did not take place until it finally happened at SummerSlam.

Despite the on screen rivalry, Punk has always been impressed with the Austrian professional wrestler. Recently, he was interviewed by “ComicBook Nation" where he shared a massive phrase for the present World Heavyweight Champion. "Just being able to lace my boots and face him is more important to me than anything. The goal would be to win and that's the cherry on top, but I'm surrounded every day by such talented people and I don't think I'll have the time to be able to work with all of them, especially to the extent that I want to.
Punk will challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam
"So, I'm not trying to do a speed run and share the ring with everybody. But Gunther is on the top of the list and he's a guy who I look at as the future of the business, Bron Breakker, Chad Gable, Damien Priest, there's all these guys I look at like, oh man I want to get in the ring with them, and I immediately start cooking up ideas."
