The whole world of professional wrestling cried after John Cena tapped out Gunther last Saturday at The Saturday Night's Main Event. The majority of the fans expected Cena to win since it was his final match, and everybody expected he deserved it. But it has always been an addition in the wrestling world that you never win your farewell match.

Things in John Cena's case were no different, and he even tapped out for the first time in 21 years. The facial expressions of the fans after the end of the match said everything; it was an extremely emotional situation. And the way he tapped out, the expression on his face made it clear that he did not tap out from the match but tapped out from his wrestling career.

After the match, the whole WWE locker room came out to be a part of the historic moment, including the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and the World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. Speaking of CM Punk, he recently shared his heartfelt adieu to one of his biggest on screen rival. Speaking on the post-show panel, he stated the following;

John Cena had his final match last Saturday at Saturday Night's Main Event

“Not deserved but earned. I feel that me and Cody (Rhodes) are two guys who came in when John (Cena) was getting on top and you play follow the leader to an extent. There’s a lot of alpha personalities. There’s people who think they know what they’re doing and I was always looked at as the indie guy, and maybe John even looked at me like that when I first got here.

"But, you can be so good and so consistent for so long that it turns heads, and me and John became soulmates so, I think that I’m in the position currently certainly not because of anything I did, you know, or maybe a fraction but, John’s definitely one of the guys that has helped a Cody Rhodes and a CM Punk get to his level so to speak so, yeah, put the straps on his shoulders because he’s earned it.”

John Cena started his retirement tour on the first episode of RAW this year, and he accomplished everything that was remaining in his wrestling career. He won the record breaking 17th World Championship, he had his first heel run in over 21 years, and he also became a Grand Slam Champion. No professional wrestling career can be more complete than that of John Cena.
