Chris Jericho left WWE back in 2017, never to return to the promotion as of now. If Jericho could become one of the biggest names in the world of professional wrestling, WWE's contributions to his career should never be overlooked. He spent nearly 2 decades in the promotion before leaving in 2017.
One of the biggest reasons behind leaving WWE was his dissatisfaction with the way he was booked for WrestleMania 33. He had an excellent storyline with Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship, which was heading towards WrestleMania 33, but just before the event, WWE decided to take the title away from their feud.

Booker T believes Chris Jericho will return to WWE soon
The title was given to Goldberg, and all of the efforts Jericho and Kevin Owens put in were completely pointless. Chris Jericho was shown to be unhappy with this decision, so he decided to leave the promotion forever. So he left the promotion and joined NJPW in 2017. But multi times World champion is hopeful about a future return of Jericho to WWE. Speaking on his “Hall of Fame” podcast, he explained the following;
Jericho left WWE back in 2017
“People were talking about it, people talking about Jericho coming back, you know. Does Jericho fit into WWE right now? Yeah, I mean, look, to me, it’s like Chris Jericho — he’s like Edge or Christian. They’ll always fit in. He’s an original, he’s an OG, you know what I mean? So yeah, I could definitely see Chris Jericho coming back.” said the former five times WCW World Heavyweight Champion and a two times WWE Hall of Famer.

Jericho is presently active in AEW
Jericho joined WWE back in 1999, and instantly, he was seen as a future main event star. He even went on to win the WWE world title during the late WWE Attitude Era, and he got the honor to defend the WWE World Championship on the main event of WrestleMania X8 against Triple H.
After leaving WWE in 2017, his success story continued in different promotions, especially at AEW All Elite Wrestling, where he became the inaugural World Champion. He has also won other titles in the promotion, and he is presently seen as one of the most influential names in the promotion. Chris Jericho's return to WWE would be a matter of delight for the fans, and he can be an excellent fit both as a wrestler and in a non wrestling role.
