WWE has introduced a mid card division for women in late 2024, and they did it in the form of introducing two mid card titles for two different rosters. SmackDown has the WWE Women's United States Championship, and RAW has the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship. The main purpose of these titles had been promoting younger and upcoming talents.
Chelsea Green had been the breakout star from the SmackDown mid card division as she had been the inaugural WWE Women's United States Champion and also the first ever two times Champion. Multiple other wrestlers like Zelina Vega and Giulia have held the Championship so far, and Green has definitely been the most impressive of them all.

Chelsea Green discusses potentially doing a US Championship Challenge for the women's division
Chelsea Green recently talked about her journey as the face of the women's United States Championship division and whether she ever considered conducting a women's US Championship challenge like the men's division. Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on the Insight Podcast, she explained the following;
Chelsea Green is the first ever two times WWE Women's United States champion
“Okay. So obviously, for three years, you’ve seen me duck and dodge any match possible. I really tried to avoid wrestling, but we’re here, we’re a double champion. Ethan is teaching me to face our fears head-on, so did I pitch to have an open challenge? Yes, because I’m a fighting champion now! I’m gonna need a sauna and some ice packs, but I will be a fighting champion!”

John Cena was the first wrestler to introduce the US Championship Challenge
“I asked. I really did try. I tried so hard. I wanted to do a Divas open challenge. I want to do the whole shebang, but I understand that the women before me, it’s fun for me, because I wasn’t a diva, but the women before me fought so hard to kind of end that stigma. I don’t know if bringing it back right now would do those women justice. Maybe in 10 years, maybe the girls from NXT can come up and do it in the future, but I will continue trying. I will keep pushing.”
John Cena was the first wrestler to introduce the US Championship challenge in the men's roster, and it turned out to be a massive success. The challenge returned multiple times, and it is still going on in SmackDown as the present champion Ilja Dragunov is conducting it every week. Chelsea Green would have been an excellent candidate to introduce this competition to the women's division.
