Chad Gable has always been considered one of the most technically gifted professional wrestlers in WWE history; however, he never got enough opportunities to shine. Despite being vastly talented, he never received a proper push in WWE, nor did he ever receive any singles Championship run.
After WrestleMania 40, it finally looked like he was going to get the much awaited singles push when he started feuding with Sami Zayn over the WWE Intercontinental Championship. But ultimately, he failed to win the title, and once again, he was lost in the shuffle.
Chad Gable reveals that he was El Grande Americano
But earlier this year, he started working on a different character named El Grande Americano, and he was finally getting the much awaited big boost. However, the character had been presented in a different way, as Chad Gable did not want to accept that he was playing the character.
Chad Gable is presently out of action with a calf injury
Unfortunately, he picked up an injury recently, which sidelined him from action, and his fellow coworker Ludwig Kaiser started playing the character of El Grande Americano. However, it was never disclosed publicly. The storyline of this character is still unclear.
It is not revealed whether Gable would continue playing this character once he returns. Recently, Gable was seen attending a Minnesota Twins baseball game last Sunday, where he said the following about his present injury;

"I'm looking at the silver lining here. I have a little injury to my rotator cuff. But what it did do was buy me some time off the road to be home with my family and do stuff like this, go to a baseball game on a Sunday which I never get to do. So find the bright side, right?"

It is still not clear how long this injury will take and when he will come back to action. There is more confusion about whether he would continue his El Grande Americano character or if there will be a first ever feud between him and Ludwig Kaiser over a gimmick. But this would definitely be something really exciting to see.
