Bret Hart is often considered one of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling, and he was also a top star of the WWE and later of WCW throughout the 90s. He made his wrestling debut in the late 70s, and he started working on his family's wrestling promotion, which was Stampede Wrestling.

Bret Hart transitioned to WWE in the mid 80s, and in his early career, he was promoted as a tag team wrestler along with his brother in law Jim Neidhart. Together, they were known as the Hart Foundation. From the late 80s, he started working as a singles wrestler, and by the early 90s, he established himself as a top singles wrestler.

But who are the wrestlers who helped him to become one of the biggest stars in the world of professional wrestling? Bret recently talked about the contributions of the wrestlers behind his ultimate success. He credited the likes of Roddy Piper and Curt Hennig. Speaking on Walandi Tsanti's YouTube channel recently, Hart explained the following;

Bret Hart had been an established top star by the early 90s

“Eventually when I was tagged up with Jim, we became tag champions the second time and had a nice run as champions. [Vince] came back to me and said, ‘We’re going to put you in singles again. We’re going to give you the big push again, the real one.’ And I’m kind of like — I’m skeptical that they would do all that for me again. Because there’s always a lot of politics and backstabbing. And anyway, so I got turned to a good guy again with Mr. Perfect. And that was the start of it.”

“Everything for me started with the wrestlers that loved working with me, like Mr. Perfect and Roddy Piper. And certain guys wanted to help me and prove to the office and the promotion that I could be a big star. And so I owe a lot to Mr. Perfect. He was the first guy to really go in there and just show everybody how good I was. And Curt was — he one of my favorite guys to ever wrestled. He was the first guy to step up and make me. And then Roddy Piper was probably the second.”

Bret Hart had been an established top star of WWE by the early '90s as he was regularly competing for the World Championship. He remained active in WWE until the end of 1997, and he had been a five times World Champion in the promotion. In 2000, he had to take retirement from in ring because he suffered a career threatening neck injury.
