Bret Hart was frustrated with WWE, especially with Vince McMahon, after the infamous Montreal Screwjob incident. He spat on the face McMahon on live television, and he even pointed the sign of WCW, making things clear that he would be joining the biggest competition of WWE. But his WCW Run was not as fruitful as everybody expected it would be.

Bret Hart claims that Ric Flair sabotaged his matches in WCW
Bret Hart had multiple rivalries with multiple major names in WCW, and one of his biggest rivals in WCW was the Nature Boy Ric Flair, but Flair was closing in on his retirement during that time, and he was totally out of his prime. Hart recently attended a live Q&A event in Germersheim, Germany, where he claimed that Ric Flair sabotaged his matches;
Bret Hart and Ric Flair worked in WCW during the dying days of the promotion
“I didn’t have very good matches with Ric Flair. Like, the ones I had in Germany a few weeks before were like five-star matches, but the ones I had in Calgary—like one star in Canada and different towns. And I remember going, ‘I think he’s purposely not giving me good matches. He’s trying to sabotage my matches.’ And I remember him saying that he just was having some marital problems, which maybe he was.”

Bret was forced to retire from in ring action in the year 2000
“And he kept apologizing for his lack of effort. But I wasn’t having very good matches with Ric Flair. And he was going to go to WCW anyway. He wrestles everybody in the exact same way. It’s the same script, the same match, the same spots, the same moves. And whereas I’m an artist, I do different every night. Like I don’t do the same thing.”
Bret Hart had the worst experience working with Goldberg in WCW. Goldberg accidentally ended Hart's career with a botched Super Kick, and Hart could never forgive Goldberg for this incident. It has been over 25 years, but he still keeps on criticizing Goldberg. Moreover, Hart made the world difficult for his life by joining WCW.
