Bret Hart

WWE Bret Hart wrestling career

Bret Hart joined the world of professional wrestling at a very young age of 19. He started working in Stampede Wrestling. This promotion was owned by his father, Stu Hart, who was also a legendary professional wrestler. He remained active in Stampede Wrestling until 1984, and he had been quite impressive during his early years.

In 1984, Bret The Hitman Hart started working in WWE, and remained active in the promotion for the next 13 years. He went on to become one of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling while being active in WWE. He started working in WWE as a tag team wrestler along with his brother in law Jim Neidhart. Together, they were famously known as the Hart Foundation.

Bret Hitman Hart had always been quite impressive, and WWE always wanted to promote him as a top star. He won his first world championship in 1992, and WWE kept on promoting him as a main eventer from this win. He had been one of the biggest faces of the New Gen Era of WWE, and he was also a huge attraction.

He remained active in WWE until the end of 1997, and he maintained his main event status. He had been a five times World Champion in WWE, and he also achieved other successes like being the only wrestler to win two King of the Ring tournaments. His rivalry with Shawn Michaels is considered one of the best rivalries in the history of professional wrestling.

At Survivor Series 1997, Bret The Hitman Hart was forced to lose to Shawn Michaels but he did not want to lose this match. He was so upset after this incident that he decided to leave WWE forever. He even spat directly on the face of Vince McMahon and made a hand gesture by showing WCW, making his intentions clear.

Bret The Hitman Hart went to WCW in the same year, and he had been treated as a main eventer in WCW as well. He remained active in the promotion until 2000, and he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship two times, including other titles. But unfortunately, he suffered a major injury at Starrcade 1999, which somehow killed his wrestling career.

Bret The Hitman Hart continued working in the rain until 2011, but he completely lost his touch. He returned to the ring in 2010 and had multiple matches, including his match against Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 26. He even won the WWE United States Championship. But unfortunately, he was nowhere near his prime. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame individually in 2006, and he still makes sporadic appearances.

Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan

Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan had been two of the biggest names of the 90s and rivalry between the two has always been a dream of the fans. The duo worked in the same ring multiple times, but this dream rivalry had been conducted, neither in WWE, nor in WCW. This dream always remained a dream.

However, the duo had a match in an episode of WCW Nitro in 1998, where Hogan was disqualified and Bret Hitman Hart was declared the winner. But this match had been forgotten, or rather overlooked for poor match quality.

Bret Hart Hitman claimed that he was supposed to face Hogan for the WWE World Championship at Summerslam 1993 and defeat him but Hogan refused to put him over and the match never happened. Instead, Hogan dropped the title to Yokozuna at King of the Ring 1993. It was not a clean win as an interference from Harvey Wippleman cost him the match.

Bret Hart vs The Rock

Bret Hart vs The Rock had always been a dream feud for the wrestling fans, but unfortunately, it never happened properly. There is, however, one match between the two legends from March 1997, where The Rock defended the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Bret Hitman Hart in an episode of RAW where The Rock was declared the winner by DQ.

The Rock was still playing the character of Rocky Maivia and he did not become The Rock during that time. So it was more of a forgettable match. When The Rock became ‘The People’s Champion’ and a Megastar, Bret Hitman Hart already left WWE. So unfortunately, we could never experience this dream rivalry.
