Braun Strowman was released from WWE last July, and it does not look like he will be brought back into the promotion anytime soon. But no doubt he had been one of the top stars of WWE during the final days of Vince McMahon, who always projected him as a main event star. He had even won the WWE Universal Championship one time during the run of Vince McMahon.

But after Triple H took charge of the creative of WWE, he never saw Braun Strowman as a main eventer despite bringing him back in 2022. He only portrayed the former WWE Universal Champion as a mid card, and ultimately, after his contract ended in 2025, he was released from the promotion.

Braun Strowman revealed how Stone Cold Steve Austin helped him recover from injury in 2023

The final run of Strowman in WWE was full of injuries. One of the worst injuries he suffered was in 2023, and it was a neck injury that could have ended his career. Recently, he revealed that advice from Stone Cold Steve Austin helped him recover from this potential career ending injury. Speaking on TMZ’s “Inside The Ring” podcast, he explained the following;

Braun Strowman suffered a potential career ending neck injury in 2023

“So 2023, I had that really bad neck injury in the ring where I pinched my spine and both my arms went limp, were paralyzed for about three seconds during the match. To get the match done, get in the back, the doctors check me out, [and] we’re trying to figure out what’s going on. So I’m literally freaking out of, ‘Oh my God, my career’s over, my day-to-day life’s over.'”

Braun Strowman had been released from WWE in July 2025

“Thankfully, I’m really close with Stone Cold Steve Austin. This injury was really, really similar to the injury that ended his career. So I called Steve, talked to Steve a lot, man. He gave me a lot of reassurance and eased my mind with, have the surgery; he’s had great success afterwards, no issues and stuff like that. WWE took great care of me, got me down to Andrews Medical, got me patched up. They threw a metal plate, four screws in there, so my time off. I had like a year or whatever to recover from that.”

One of the biggest reasons behind his latest release from WWE is believed to be the injuries Braun Strowman suffered after returning to the promotion in 2022. He suffered multiple injuries during this tenure, and these injuries kept him out of action for a long time. We can expect him to return on the independent circuit soon.
