Braun Strowman was one of the biggest projects of WWE under the reign of Vince McMahon, and he had always been promoted as a main eventer. In some cases, he was even overpushed. He had been a former WWE Universal Champion, and he could have been promoted as a main eventer continuously if Vince McMahon were still around.
But in 2022, McMahon stepped down from his role in WWE, and ultimately, he retired from the world of professional wrestling forever. Strowman was also released from WWE during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Triple H brought him back in 2022. He never considered him as a main event, but he constantly pushed him as a mid card.

But Braun Strowman was suffering from multiple injuries during his second run in WWE and the injuries were keeping him out of action for quite a long time. He completely lost his main event run, but he was doing well as a mid card. Every time things looked a little better for him, he was getting injured and was out of action for months.

Ultimately, he had been released from WWE earlier this year. Promotion had been releasing all the injury-prone names, and Braun Strowman was one of the victims. He has not returned to the wrestling world since getting released from WWE. Recently, he spoke on the “Something’s Burning” podcast, where he discussed dealing with mental health issues. Here is what he had to say;
“I grew up in a small town. I graduated high school, there’s like 400 kids in my high school. I’m the town mechanic to all of a sudden a couple years later, I’m on television on WWE in front of four million people every week.

“And you talk about developing social anxiety—I had like panic attack meltdowns in public before with getting bombarded with people coming up and not knowing how to handle [it] and all this other stuff.”
“So, there’s still times when I get in crowds and like when people are starting to notice me and I start getting a little edgy, and it’s like, ‘All right, you got to get me out of here or something bad’s going to happen.’ That’s why I don’t have security to like protect me. I have security to like protect people from me.” said the former WWE Universal Champion.
