Booker T made his WWE debut back in 2001 during the WWE vs. Alliance storyline, where he played a vital role. He was one of the key figures of the team Alliance in this storyline, and during his first year, he was promoted as a main event star in WWE. A quick fun fact, Booker T always calls himself a five times WCW World Heavyweight Champion; he won this fifth world title during his WWE run.
All the fans expected Booker to become one of the biggest main eventers of WWE in the upcoming days. But after the WWE vs Alliance storyline ended, Booker's main event push was stalled, and he could not elevate himself back to the main event status for the next five years despite challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XIX.

How Booker T teamed up with Goldust in 2002
After the WWE vs Alliance storyline ended, Booker started playing a mid card role, including a tag team storyline with Goldust. They even won the World Tag Team Championship together. Recently, he appeared on D‑Von Dudley’s YouTube channel, where he made a big Revelation on how he teamed up with Goldust in 2002. Here is what he had to say;
Booker T and Goldust won the world Tag Team Championship once
“Goldie and I, we didn’t come up with any of that stuff. Everything that we did it was written, and we would go out there, get the script, and perform it. And you know, we had fun every week. But we were two guys who, at that point in time, they didn’t have anything for. They just dropped that on us, and no one really thought Goldust and Booker T was going to work. No one thought that was going to turn out to be, like, a highlight for just about every show every week.

Booker later started playing a singles character after this team ended
"The thing is, back then, they put you together, and you made it work, right? At the end of the day, it’s something you really had to think about. For me, it was all about, ‘Give me the script. I mean, what am I doing this week?’ You know, I never really wanted to know, but when you gave it to me, my brain started thinking. We weren’t thinking about anything other than entertaining the fans. When we got in the ring, though, we wanted to have some really, really good tag matches. You know what I mean?”
The Tag Team of Booker T and Goldust did not continue for long, despite being quite famous among the fans. Booker started playing a singles character soon, and WWE pushed him as a mid card talent at first. In 2006, he became a main event star for the first time after winning the King of the Ring tournament, followed by his World Heavyweight championship win.
