2005 is often considered one of the best years of the Ruthless Aggression era, it shows the rise of John Cena as a main event star, and it also features some excellent feuds. But there were controversies too, like the feud between Kurt Angle and Booker T. It was a multi match feud, and it was really fun.

The feud no doubt had some excellent matches, but what made it controversial was the involvement of Booker's wife, Sharmell. It was confirmed later that former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon thought Kurt Angle had a fetish for women of colour, and he thought building a feud between Booker T and him, which would involve his lust for Angle's wife, would be interesting.

The feud was booked in 200,5 and it created massive controversy since it had a molestation angle. But such storylines were white common back in those days. One of the prime examples of such a storyline was the stalker storyline between Kane and Lita. Booker and Angle's storyline from 2005 is not much different.

A large number of fans always thought about how difficult it would have been for the wrestlers involved in such feuds. Booker T recently remembered this controversial rivalry while speaking with Esports Insider and explained how he and others felt while portraying this storyline. Here is what the former five times WCW World Heavyweight Champion has to say;

“It’s movies! Kurt didn’t like it. Because Kurt respects me so much, but it’s movies. My wife and Kurt, they never came close to each other outside the camera. So it was movies, it was making fans feel a certain way.” He added, “For me, I have always looked at wrestling like it’s a movie. We had a lot to do with the way things were played out, so when you do it, you gotta’ make it real. So I had no problems with it. Kurt is one of my best friends.”

This was not the only such angle Kurt Angle played, in 2001, he worked in a love triangle storyline with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. It was one of the rarest heel vs heel rivalries, but quite fun. In reality, it is believed that Kurt Angle is one of the most respectful wrestlers in the locker room, and he never intended to disrespect anyone.
