“In 2014, there were still posters that said, ‘Hey, come see CM Punk and the Big Show and the Divas, you know, like as if it was its own kind of thing. And what I didn’t anticipate, I suppose, is how much the business would um be open to changing. There was an upswell in the audience wanting to see the women be taken seriously.”
“So I was with a group of girls, and we all kind of had the same ambition. We wanted to be taken seriously. We wanted to have great matches. We wanted to have matches better than the guys. We wanted to headline the shows, and so did the audience. The audience changed their mind too, and then they changed the company’s mind, and now here we are.” explained Becky Lynch.
