Austin Theory was one of the biggest future projects, according to Vince McMahon during his final days in the promotion. Reports even suggested that he wanted to push him as the next phase of WWE, who would replace Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns at the top of the list.

The early days of Theory were quite well for him as he was given the WWE United States Championship quite early and also won the Money in the Bank ladder match. Things were going pretty good for him before Triple H took charge of the creative department of WWE in 2022.

Austin Theory is potentially released from WWE

The first thing Triple H did was bury Theory awfully. He recorded him as the worst Money in the Bank holder with the worst cash in ever. He was the first wrestler in WWE history who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on the WWE United States Championship and not on a world title.

Austin Theory had been a former WWE United States champion

Not only did his Money in the Bank cash in fail, but his main event push was slowly getting cut. Once he dropped the WWE United States Championship to Rey Mysterio in an episode of SmackDown, he was slowly moving away from television. But things were still alive when he teamed up with Grayson Waller, and it was looking like Triple H would push him as a tag team wrestler.

Theory's Tag Team partner Grayson Waller is recently working with the New Day

Things for him as a tag team wrestler were looking quite bright when he and Waller won the WWE Tag Team championships at WrestleMania 40. But their Team Championship run was not up to the mark, and after they dropped the titles, Austin Theory stopped getting regular screen time. And finally, it had been reported recently that Theory has been removed from the WWE roster.

It was pretty much clear that Triple H never liked Austin Theory. He treated him terribly at the NXT, and the same thing continued in the main roster. Recently, he and his tag team partner, Grayson Waller, were seen working with The New Day, which already made it clear that WWE is definitely releasing him now. Theory can now move to AEW for a better future, and Indies are not a bad option either for him. Moreover, there is no future left for him in WWE.
