2025 in WWE is all about returns, and one of the latest returns that blew the fans completely away is the return of AJ Lee on WWE SmackDown last week. She took retirement from in ring action back in 2015, and she has remained out of WWE ever since. Finally, after more than a decade, she made a sensational return to the promotion.
AJ Lee's husband CM Punk has been having a long time feud with Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. At Clash in Paris, Punk was really close to beating Rollins to win the World Heavyweight Championship. But Rollins' wife, Becky Lynch, made an interference during this match to cost Punk his opportunity to win the title.
Nikki Bella talks about the return of AJ Lee
This power couple kept on making Punk's life miserable until his wife, AJ Lee, made a surprise return to have her husband's back. Lee was one of the top stars of the promotion during the Divas era, and one of her biggest rivals was Nikki Bella, who recently talked about the return of Lee while speaking on her "Nikki & Brie Show" Podcast. She said;

“AJ’s back, and so she and I were chatting for a bit backstage. And we both were just saying, how crazy it is, but she was like, ‘I just love that you’re here, why I’m back,’ and I’m like, ‘No, I’m so happy you’re back,’ and I’m like, ‘We both look so good. Us Latinas.’ It was great talking to her.”
AJ is presently having a rivalry with Becky Lynch
“I actually hope we get a moment because when you think about it, everyone’s talking about it on the internet and it is true. We were so much of each other’s most important stories at that time with the Divas Championship before she had left and even with you and Paige. It was so much about us, and so the fact that we both are there. We have to have a moment.”
Nikki Bella has also made a surprise return to WWE recently, and she is working on Monday Night RAW. There is a big chance that these two former rivals will renew their rivalry once again in modern day. Presently, AJ is having a rivalry with Becky Lynch, and it looks like they are going to have a long feud.
