Liverpool lost the game in the penalty shootout
"Well we lost Darwin, he went to Saudi and we lost Lucho [Luis Diaz], he went to Bayern. I think there's always room for an attacker in order to strengthen us so let's see what the window brings in terms of the balance of the team." Said Liverpool skipper Virgil Van Dijk, who was also responsible for the first penalty that led to Crystal Palace' first goal. (Source - talkSPORT)
One of the key reasons behind the defeat of Liverpool was the lack of chemistry in this new side, which will definitely get fixed in no time. Liverpool are presently looking forward to signing a defender, Marc Guehi has been one of their prime targets and was excellent last night. Hopefully, the issues that were seen in the Liverpool team last night will get fixed soon.
