According to reports from The Mirror, the former Premier League Champions snubbed the idea of signing the Argentine international because of his age, which is 33, and he was also on a wage of £200,000, which the club did not want to pay.
Therefore, the fans could not experience this dream signing. Another position where Manchester United is lacking presently is their midfield, and despite having a vulnerable midfield, they did not sign any proper midfielders to fix the issue. The former Champions are presently going through a slow build up up and it will take years to fix all the issues.
