Nottingham Forest had been one of the most impressive teams in the Premier League last season. Just a number of years ago, they were struggling in the second division, and now they have qualified for European football. If they could maintain what they did throughout the season at the end, they could have qualified for the UEFA Champions League.

With the promotion for the UEFA Conference League next season, Forest are handed a big transfer boost as they are finally moving forward to make a big money signing. The Juventus misfit Douglas Luiz is presently on the radar of the former two times Champions League winners.

Nottingham Forest are possibly signing Douglas Luiz this summer

Douglas Luiz previously spent five seasons with Ashton Villa, and he had been one of the most impactful midfielders of The Villans. Luiz joined Villa during the summer transfer window of 2019 for an undisclosed fee. He was so important to Villa that he even helped them qualify for the Champions League last season.

But Villa failed to keep him as Italian joint Juventus came in search of him last season, and they secured a £42 million transfer. Despite many expectations, Luiz failed to impress at Juventus, and it seems like the Italian club is willing to offload the Brazilian International during this summer transfer window.

Luiz might have failed to impress at Juventus, but his Premier League experience can definitely lead him to ultimate success if he returns to England once again. If Forest gets able to land him at The City Ground, he could have been exactly what the team lacked last season, and they can also aim for Higher level European qualification.
