Southampton Football Club had a huge chance of scoring the first goal of the game in the 43rd minute as their skipper Armstrong, went one on one with the Liverpool goalkeeper. And it was Alexander Isak who scored the goal for Liverpool. It was his first goal for the club that he had dreamt of joining. Federico Chiesa was the one to register the assist in this goal. The first half ended 1-0 in Liverpool's favor, but no doubt Southampton had been excellent, and in terms of statistics, they were ahead of Liverpool in total shot count.
Liverpool did not rush into anything in the second half, but they were in an attacking mood. After 60 minutes, the Reds started putting more pressure on the Southampton defence. But the Championship side had been really well defensively to keep preventing Liverpool's attacks. Liverpool did not stop looking forward to securing the game with a cushion.

But he swallowed a second yellow card, removing the shirt. It must be the craziest red card ever. But Liverpool did not look bothered after getting a man down, and they kept on attacking. Southampton could not take advantage of a 10 man Liverpool team either, and the game ended 2-1 in Liverpool's favour.
