Antony is widely considered one of the worst signings Manchester United have ever made, and it is also considered one of the worst signings in recent years of football. Manchester United have been quite awful in recent years in the transfer window, and they have spent a lot of money on multiple flops.

Apart from the Brazilian International, Jadon Sancho had also been a huge flop who joined the club back in 2021 for a reported fee of £73 million. Sancho was extremely impressive at Borussia Dortmund before joining Manchester United Football Club, and everybody had high hopes for him upon joining the Red Devils. But ultimately, he turned out to be a huge flop, and Manchester United are really struggling to offload him.

Antony is potentially heading to Real Betis once again

Antony is also a similar name who was really impressive at Ajax, and he joined Manchester United in 2022 for a reported fee of £82 million, much like most of their recent transfers. The Brazilian International also turned out to be a huge flop. Presently, the former Premier League Champions are desperate to offload him.

The Brazilian International joined Manchester United back in 2022

He was sent to Real Betis on loan during the winter transfer window last season, and he was somehow impressive for the Spanish side. It is reported that the deal did not include any buy out clause, so the 25 year old returned to his parent club at the end of the loan spell. Once again, Manchester United started trying to sell him, but it is getting really difficult for them to get rid of him permanently.

Real Betis signed Antony on a season long loan deal

As already mentioned, Antony had a successful loan spell at Betis, and the Spanish side wanted to have him again this season, but they were unwilling to meet the demands set by Manchester United. Reports suggest that the English side want around £35 million for the Brazilian International, which Betis could not meet.

Latest reports from The Telegraph suggest that Betis have agreed another loan deal to sign the Brazilian International for the rest of the next season, and the present deal also includes the obligation to buy him permanently next season. The fate of the 25 year old may look sealed, but it looks like Manchester United still have a lot of things to do before the transfer window closes.
