NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli is not only known for his excellence with the bat but also for his playful on-field behaviour, something that fans have often noticed and celebrated over the years.
A similar incident took place during the first ODI between India and New Zealand in Vadodara. As both teams lined up and walked out towards the ground for the national anthem, Virat was seen having a light moment behind the scenes.
Just behind his teammate, Kohli began mimicking Shreyas Iyer’s walking style, copying his movements as Iyer walked ahead of him in the queue.

The act was caught on camera by a fan, who later shared the clip-on social media. The video quickly went viral, with fans reacting warmly to the moment. Many called Kohli a complete character, praising his playful nature and the strong bond he shares with his teammates.
While the moment provided entertainment off the field, both Kohli and Iyer delivered with the bat when it mattered most.
King Kohli continued his sublime run in the ODI format with yet another 50-plus score during India’s chase against New Zealand in Vadodara. He was unlucky to fall just seven runs short of his 54th ODI century, but his innings laid the foundation and turned out to be the backbone of the successful chase.
Shreyas Iyer, who returned to ODI cricket after a prolonged injury break, also shone with the bat. He played a valuable and quick knock of 49 runs, providing crucial momentum in the middle overs.
The two shared a vital 77-run partnership off just 76 deliveries, setting the platform before KL Rahul and Harshit Rana finished the job for India.
Kohli and Iyer have long been the backbone of India’s middle order, often carrying the team to victory.Their contributions over the years are one of the major reasons why India have dominated ODI cricket in recent times.
