NEW DELHI: Harshit Rana has been riding on brilliant form with the ball and the same was on full display during the second ODI between India and New Zealand.
On a tricky surface, the young pacer delivered a peach of a delivery to remove the dangerous Devon Conway at a crucial stage of the chase.
The moment came in the second innings when opening partnership was beginning to settle. Rana stepped up at just the right time.

Rana strikes with a beauty
In the sixth over, Harshit Rana produced a magical delivery that left Conway completely clueless. Bowling a fullish ball at good pace, Rana angled it in towards off stump.
Conway barely moved his feet as the ball beat the outside edge and rattled the off stump. The off stump went rolling as Conway stood stunned, having no answer to the delivery.

The New Zealand opener departed for 16 runs, an innings that included three crisp boundaries.
India tighten the screws early
India kept things tight throughout the powerplay, not allowing New Zealand any freedom on a surface that offered uneven bounce and slight movement.
At the end of the 10 overs, New Zealand were restricted to 34 for 1, their fourth-lowest powerplay score in ODIs since the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
Earlier in the match, KL Rahul laid the foundation for India’s strong total. Batting with control and intent, Rahul scored a brilliant 112 as India posted 284 for 7 in their 50 overs.
His knock pushed the total to a very competitive one in Rajkot, setting the stage for the bowlers to take charge in the second innings.
