NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli had a memorable encounter with young fans in Vadodara ahead of the first ODI against New Zealand - an experience the star India batter is likely to remember for a long time. What stood out was the former India skipper meeting a fan who has an uncanny resemblance to him as a child.

During a training session, Kohli - usually reserved around crowds - was approached by a group of enthusiastic young fans eager for autographs. Setting aside his typical privacy, he stopped, beaming, and warmly greeted each child while signing their memorabilia.

Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh later joined the kids to make a fun reel, which notably included the young fan who bears a striking resemblance to Kohli.

Kohli looked in good touch as India went through a rigorous training session on Friday. He spent nearly one-and-a-half hours against Indian pacers, spinners and throw down specialists after playing two matches each in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Having struck 77 and 131 in the two matches of the premier domestic competition, Kohli went hard against the Indian spinners and pacers alike. Some variable bounce against the throw down specialists in one of the nets did challenge the batting superstar further.

He had secured the 'Player of the Series' award against South Africa in December for scoring 302 runs in three matches at an average of 151.00, with two back-to-back centuries and a fifty.
