Virat Kohli's early mentor, Rajkumar Sharma, has come out strongly in support of the ex-India captain saying that Kohli is not the kind of person who has to prove his worth to anyone. The experienced coach stated that Kohli is the one who has done it all in international cricket and he is totally convinced that he (Kohli) will be ready for the next tour of Australia. After an absence, Kohli is going to wear the Indian jersey again at the very least, after winning the Champions Trophy on March 9.

“Virat Kohli has achieved everything,” says Rajkumar Sharma

Speaking to ANI, Sharma stated, “Virat doesn’t have to prove anything — he has achieved everything. The way he has played and the matches he has won for India speak volumes about his contribution. He is well prepared, and whenever he is prepared, the results are always good. I have full faith he will do well as usual.”

Kohli was initially expected to make his Test return during the England tour for the inaugural Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. However, he surprised fans by bringing down the curtain on his 14-year-long Test career with a heartfelt note. His decision has sparked conversations about whether the upcoming three-match series in Australia could be the final time fans see him in Indian colours.

Sharma also extended his praise to Rohit Sharma, saying both stalwarts have cemented their legacies in Indian cricket. “Both of them are great players and have nothing left to prove. The whole of India knows their contribution to Indian cricket. If anyone still expects them to prove themselves at this stage, it would be quite a funny thing,” he added.
