It has been a difficult time for Team India in Test Cricket in the past 1 year. Team India didn’t perform up to the mark. During the 4th Test, Day 3 of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Manchester for the first time in 10 years, India have conceded 500+ runs in an overseas Test match innings.
The Streak is over:
During the 4th Test, day 3, Indian bowlers looked out of rhythm. India scored 358 runs the the first innings. By the end of the day, England managed to score 544/7 in 135 overs with 186 runs of lead. The last time India conceded 500+ runs was way back in 2015 against Australia in Sydney.

All English batters played aggressively, and Indian bowlers failed to deliver in crucial situations. There was no pressure, no breakthroughs when it mattered, and no right plan from Team India.
Gautam Gambhir as Head Coach in Test Cricket is not Impressive:
Talking about Gautam Gambhir’s Tenure as a Head coach in the red ball format has not been impressive. Last year, in November 2024 earlier India suffered a 3-0 whitewash at home against New Zealand on their home soil. That was followed by a 3-1 series loss in Australia.
According to some cricket experts and fans, Team India is struggling due to poor team Selection by the Captain and Coach. Captain Shubman Gill missed the trick during the 4th Test. Some former cricketers are criticising Gill’s Captaincy for not giving the ball earlier to Washington Sundar during day 3 of the Test match.

Cricket fans are hoping the Team can show some fighting spirit to draw the Test match before going into the final Test at London.
