NEW DELHI: Suryakumar Yadav's rise as a T20I captain has been nothing short of remarkable. Since taking charge, he has led India to a series of impressive wins both at home and abroad, proving himself as one of the best captains in the shorter format.
Under his leadership, India have registered several remarkable series wins both at home and overseas. Suryakumar guided India to a 4-1 victory over Australia at home before drawing a three-match series 1-1 against South Africa in their backyard.

India then inflicted a 3-0 whitewash against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, and another 3-0 win over Bangladesh in India. India achieved a historic 3-1 triumph over South Africa in their own conditions and His team also beat England 4-1 in India earlier this year.
Adding to his captaincy achievements, Suryakumar Yadav also led India to Asia Cup glory, further cementing his growing reputation as a leader who thrives under pressure. His unbeaten streak as captain remained intact with a 2-1 series win over Australia Down Under.
India clinched the series after the fifth and final game was abandoned due to rain in Brisbane on Saturday.

Put in to bat, India made a blazing start with openers Abhishek Sharma (23 not out off 13 balls) and Shubman Gill (29 not out off 16 balls) going on the offensive.
But lightning stopped play with India cruising at 52 for no loss in 4.5 overs. Soon after, heavy rain lashed the Gabba, forcing the match to be abandoned.
"Weather isn't in our control. Credit to all the boys to bounce back after losing the first game," Surya said in the post-match presentation. "Bowlers, fast and spin, know their roles really well. Bumrah, Arshdeep and the spinners are all doing really well. They bring a lot to the table, plan for things and execute them which is what you want."
