Yashasvi Jaiswal’s fifty keeps Mumbai afloat after Hooda’s 248 for Rajasthan

On​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ the back of a sensational double hundred from Deepak Hooda, who single-handedly took Rajasthan to a massive 617 for six in their first innings, Mumbai are 89 for no loss in their second innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s second fifty of the match was instrumental in Mumbai’s second-innings start. It is to be noted that this Ranji Trophy Group D match between Rajasthan and Mumbai took place on Monday. After scoring a century on the second day, Hooda committed himself to a very long innings and finally reached his double hundred, scoring 248 off 335 balls. The record-holding Ranji champions, Mumbai, were kept on the back foot throughout the day. Besides that, Kartik Sharma also scored an impressive 139 as Rajasthan not only gained a firm hold of the game but also ensured a smooth progression of the game. On the fall of the third day's wicket, Jaiswal was still going strong with his unbeaten 56, taken from an equal number of balls, and Musheer Khan was at the crease scoring 32 off 76 balls. The Mumbai team still have to chase a target of 274 runs as they have not lost a wicket. Their first innings score of 254, made on day one, had put them in a position of having to follow on right from the start of the match. In a match played in Delhi, Puducherry managed to secure the first-innings lead after scoring 481 on day three, in reply to Delhi’s 294. At the end of the day's play, Delhi were 76 for no loss in their second innings. Opener Arpita Rana (40*) and Sanat Sangwan (24*) were the scorers who helped the team in cutting down the deficit to 111 runs.
